Threat to kill 25 Congress MPs including Rahul Gandhi, police took the accused into custody from Kota

There was a stir in political circles after a video threatening to shoot Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and 25 Congress MPs went viral on social media. Rajasthan Police has detained a person from Kota for uploading the video. According to the police, the accused calls himself “Raj Singh” and was allegedly claiming to be associated with the Karni Sena.

What was said in the video?

In the viral video, the accused made sharp threats while referring to the recent developments in the Lok Sabha. He alleged that during the first phase of the budget session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was allegedly misbehaved by 25 Congress MPs, due to which he and his supporters are angry.

In the video, he directly addressed Rahul Gandhi and said that if such an incident happens again, he will enter the houses of MPs and vandalize them. Not only this, he also said that “If 25 MPs are not arrested within 24 hours, we will shoot them one by one.” This statement alerted the security agencies.

Kota Police took action immediately after the video surfaced. Kota SP Tejaswani Gautam said that the accused has been detained from Borkheda police station area and he is being interrogated thoroughly. Police are also investigating when the video was recorded and for what purpose it was made viral.

Political parties sidelined

There was also discussion about the picture of the Prime Minister being seen on the wall behind the accused in the video. However, both Bharatiya Janata Party and Karni Sena have denied any connection with the accused. BJP Kota city president Rakesh Jain clarified that the person seen in the video is not associated with the party.

Increased security, investigation ongoing

Considering the seriousness of the threat, the security of the leaders concerned is being reviewed. At present, the police is preparing to take legal action by registering a case under the IT Act and other sections.

This incident once again highlights the danger of aggressive language and inflammatory statements spreading on social media. Now everyone’s eyes are on the police investigation and further legal process.
