Rahul Gandhi defamation case: Files summoned from sessions court, hearing to be held on June 5

Sultanpur, Read: The Sessions Court has summoned the files of the trial court in the much talked about defamation case against Leader of Opposition MP Rahul Gandhi. Hearing the petition challenging the order rejecting the demand for vice sample, the court of Sessions Judge Rakesh on Saturday fixed June 5 for the next hearing. Complainant’s advocate Santosh Pandey said that opposition MP Rahul Gandhi’s advocate Kashi Prasad Shukla also appeared in the court in the case.

Earlier, MP-MLA Special Court Magistrate Shubham Verma had rejected the application demanding taking of vice samples, against which a revision petition has been filed in the Sessions Court. It is noteworthy that the case is related to alleged objectionable remarks made on Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a public meeting held in Bengaluru in the year 2018.

In this case, BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a defamation case in Sultanpur court. In the case, Rahul Gandhi has already appeared in the court and obtained bail and his statement has also been recorded. At present the case has reached the final hearing stage. In the original file, the date of hearing has been fixed for June 17.
