Rahul Gandhi exposed Modi government with figures in the House, India opened doors to crush poor farmers
New Delhi: India has surrendered before America and is the trade deal with Donald Trump proving to be a big betrayal for the country? During the Budget Session on Wednesday, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi intensified the political stir inside and outside the House with these sharp questions. He strongly attacked the foreign policy of the government and said that this agreement does not appear to be in line with India’s interests. Rahul Gandhi claimed that if ‘India Alliance’ had been in power today, such a deal would have been made with President Trump that the whole world would have watched. In his statement, he described ‘Indian Data’ as the country’s biggest strategic weapon, which can become India’s strength in any global deal.

Tariff increased 6 times and government’s silence?
Rahul Gandhi started his speech with statistics. Attacking the government, he said that the reality of the trade deal that is being trumpeted is something else. According to Rahul, earlier only 3 percent American tariff was imposed on India, but after this new deal it has increased to 18 percent. That means a huge increase of 6 times directly! However, under this deal, America has reduced the reciprocal duty from 25 percent to 18 percent and has also removed the additional duty on the purchase of Russian oil, but Rahul Gandhi is considering it as India’s defeat. He clearly said that instead of protecting the economic interests of the country, the government has surrendered to America.
Rahul Gandhi surrounds Trump like this
Keeping a very modern and strategic point of view, Rahul Gandhi said that in today’s era ‘data’ is the real power. He claimed that if the India Alliance had been at the negotiating table with Trump, it would have used Indian data as an ‘asset’. Rahul said that if we were talking to President Trump, we would have explained to him that Indian data is the most important asset which can save the US dollar from falling and protect it. Rahul believes that America needs Indian data to remain a superpower, and India gave it all to America without agreeing to its terms.

Speaking in the House, Rahul Gandhi also mentioned three conditions which, according to him, should have been the foundation of a better trade deal. Rahul said that the first condition would have been that Trump should talk to India on an equal footing and not consider us as his subordinates. The second condition would be regarding energy security, in which India would protect itself. And the third most important condition was – protection of farmers. Rahul Gandhi alleged that this deal has opened the doors for foreign players to crush the poor farmers of India. He also said that the Indian textile industry has already been ruined due to the wrong policies of the government.
Is the government sacrificing poor farmers?
Rahul Gandhi’s biggest attack was on farmers and small industries. He said that the government has endangered the future of crores of working people of the country in the name of trade deal. According to Rahul, if America wants to maintain its dollar supremacy, it will have to understand the importance of India, but the present government has lost its bargaining power. This speech of Rahul is not only a question mark on the trade deal, but is also an attempt to make data protection and economic nationalism a big issue in the political equations of 2026.
