Increasing financial burden on families
Rahul Gandhi claimed that lakhs of families in the country are spending heavily on their children’s education and preparation for competitive examinations. He said that the expenditure on coaching, hostels, books and other educational resources affects the financial condition of many families.
According to him, families spend their savings and sometimes take loans to provide better education to their children. Despite this, the youth do not get guaranteed employment, which increases the feeling of disappointment and insecurity.
The issue of mental health also came up
A parent present at the program expressed concern about the increasing mental pressure on students and incidents of suicide. He said that students preparing for competitive examinations face immense pressure of success, which affects their mental health.
The parent said that many families are constantly worried about the mental condition of their children. He demanded the government and educational institutions to strengthen the mental health support system.
Questions raised on employment opportunities
Rahul Gandhi said that the aim of education should not be only to give degrees, but to provide employment and a better future to the youth. He claimed that a large number of educated youth are still deprived of permanent employment.
He said that many young people are not able to get a job even after long preparation for competitive exams and are ultimately forced to go to the unorganized sector or temporary employment. Due to this, uncertainty about the future is increasing among the youth.
Need to improve education system
At the end of the program, Rahul Gandhi said that there is a need to make the country’s education system more practical and employment-oriented in the interest of the students. Describing education, employment and mental health as interconnected issues, he stressed the need for comprehensive reforms.
This dialogue held in Kota was not limited to just listening to the problems of the students, but it also gave rise to a new debate regarding the country’s education system, employment challenges and the future of the youth. This issue may remain at the center of political and social discussion in the coming times.
