‘There is mourning in every house…On top of that, arrogant statements of BJP leaders’, Rahul Gandhi upset over Indore water incident

Rahul Gandhi on Indore Water Contamination: The series of deaths due to poisonous water in Indore is not stopping. So far 15 people have lost their lives and many are fighting for their lives in hospitals. This serious health crisis has now taken a political color as well. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has directly attacked the government through social media posts.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media – There was no water in Indore, poison was distributed and the administration was in deep sleep. There is mourning in every house, the poor are helpless and on top of that the arrogant statements of BJP leaders. Those in whose homes the stoves were extinguished needed solace, but the government served them arrogantly. People repeatedly complained about dirty, smelly water – yet why was there no hearing? How did the sewer get into the water? Why was the supply not stopped in time? When will action be taken against responsible officers and leaders?

He further wrote – These are not ‘fokt’ questions, this is a demand for accountability. Clean water is not a favor, it is a right to life. And BJP’s double engine, its careless administration and insensitive leadership are completely responsible for killing this right. Madhya Pradesh has now become the center of misgovernance, at some places deaths due to cough syrup, at some places rats killing children in government hospitals, and now deaths by drinking water mixed with sewerage. And whenever the poor die, Modi ji remains silent as always.

15 deaths so far

Let us tell you that till now 15 people have died due to drinking poisonous water, while 201 patients are admitted in different hospitals, out of which 32 have been kept in ICU. 71 patients have been discharged after treatment. There is still an atmosphere of fear in Bhagirathpura area, people are afraid of even drinking water. The streets are deserted as most of the people are admitted in hospitals.

Leakage in pipeline near toilet

Leakage was found in the main drinking water pipeline near a police post in Bhagirathpura, which was located near a toilet. Due to this leakage, the water supply got contaminated, which led to the problem of spread of infection in the area. Officials have started closely inspecting the pipeline and conducting a survey to ensure that there is no leakage in any other pipeline.
