Bharat Bandh 12 Feb 2026 : Farmers and trade unions across the country have announced Bharat Bandh today. This protest is regarding India-US interim trade deal, economic policies of the central government, GRAM G Bill and new labor laws. Big farmers and many central trade unions of the country have participated in this strike. At the same time, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has openly supported the Bharat Bandh of 12 February.

Today, lakhs of workers and farmers across the country are on the streets to raise their voice for their rights.
Workers fear that the four labor codes will weaken their rights.
Farmers fear that the trade agreement will hurt their livelihoods.

Who participated in Bharat Bandh
According to the information, Bharat Bandh has been called by the joint platform of 10 central trade unions, which include AITUC, INTUC, CITU, HMS, TUCC, SEWA, AIUTUC, AICCTU, LPF, and UTUC. Apart from this, Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), Agricultural Labor Organization, students and youth organizations are also supporting this bandh.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha said the platform of agricultural labor unions and the NREGA Sangharsh Morcha (NSM) will also support and participate in the protests across the country. He appeals to the people to protest against all the new attacks being carried out by the BJP government on farmers, laborers and the general public.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha has termed the trade deal between India and America as a blueprint of ‘economic colonialism’. The farmers’ organization alleges that under the pressure of this deal, the Modi government has decided to withdraw the bonus given on paddy and weaken the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The union leader says that the aim of Bharat Bandh is to put pressure on the government for stronger social security measures and protection of workers’ rights. She is protesting four new labor codes, alleging that the new labor codes weaken workers’ rights, reduce job security, and make it easier for owners to hire and fire workers.
Demand of farmers and trade unions
– Government should withdraw the New Labor Code.
– The government should withdraw the Electricity Bill-2025 and Seed Bill-2025. Smart meters should be shut down and everyone should be given 300 units of free electricity.

– Cancel Vikas Bharat-Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) i.e. VB-G RAM G Act-2025.
– Government should restore the old pension scheme.
