Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Union Health Minister and Delhi CM Atishi, said – provide beds and shelter to the patients in AIIMS.

New Delhi. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and the Central Health Department to provide better facilities to the patients and their families coming to Delhi AIIMS from across the country. A letter has been written to Minister JP Nadda.

He said that recently I saw that in the biting cold they are forced to sleep under the metro station, where there is neither provision of drinking water nor toilets. There is also a pile of garbage nearby. Rahul Gandhi wrote that such a large number of patients coming to Delhi AIIMS also shows that people are not getting affordable and good quality health facilities where they live.

He said that I hope that taking cognizance of my letter, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the Union Health Minister will take immediate steps to resolve this humanitarian crisis. It is also hoped that the Central Government will take concrete initiatives to strengthen the public healthcare system in the upcoming budget and will increase the resources required for it.
