Rahul Gandhi’s big allegation: Ending MNREGA is an insult to Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts, a direct attack on Modi government.
New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul said that the attempt to end MNREGA is an open insult to the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi and PM Modi has a problem with Gandhiji’s principles.
Rahul Gandhi wrote in his social media post that for the last 10 years, Modi government has been continuously engaged in weakening MNREGA and now there is a plan to stop it completely. Mocking the new scheme, he wrote, “This ‘VB-Ji Ram Ji’ bill is actually a direct attack on the livelihood of poor rural families. Congress will fight to stop it everywhere from the streets to the Parliament.”
What is the whole matter? In fact, the Modi government at the Center is abolishing MNREGA and replacing it with a new scheme, whose full name is – ‘Developed India Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)’. This is being called ‘Vikas Bharat-Ji Ram Ji’ scheme in short. On Tuesday, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan presented a bill related to this scheme in the Lok Sabha.
Rahul Gandhi’s clear allegation is that this new bill encroaches on the rights of the poor and by abolishing MNREGA, the government wants to bury Gandhiji’s biggest rural employment program forever.
