Raid on medical agency, unbilled medicines worth more than Rs 8 lakh recovered…
Uttar-Pradesh: A major raid was conducted by the police and food safety department at Vardaan Medical Agency in Agra, in which the bills of 23 medicines could not be shown. In this action, the price of unbilled medicines is said to be more than Rs 8 lakh.
It is being told that the medicines sold in the agency included high blood pressure (BP) medicines and painkillers. Officials have seized 5 cartons of medicines. The investigation also found that there was a discrepancy between the purchase and sale register of medicines and the computer records, which gave rise to suspicion that medicines were being traded illegally.
Let us tell you that during this raid, samples of 6 medicines have been sent for testing. Officials say that some of these antibiotics are from ESI (Employees’ State Insurance) hospital. The operator claimed during interrogation that the medicines were being supplied from Gwalior, but the information was not found to be correct.
Let us tell you that the Food Safety Department has sent the report including the batch numbers of the medicines to the government. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing, and strict action will be taken against traders found guilty.
