Now Tatkal ticket will be easily available, big action by Railways against black marketing; 3 crore IDs suspended
Indian Railway: Indian Railways has deactivated approximately 3.02 crore suspicious user IDs to strengthen the functioning of the reservation system and increase the availability of Tatkal tickets. This information was given by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said that strict re-evaluation and verification of user accounts has been done to increase the availability of Indian Railways regular/Tatkal tickets. Around 3.02 crore suspicious user IDs have been deactivated since January 2025.
The Union Railway Minister in his reply further said that anti-bot solutions like Akamai have been brought in to remove fake users and ensure smooth booking for legitimate passengers. One-Time Password (OTP) Verification is being implemented in a phased manner to prevent misuse and ensure fairness in Tatkal booking.
Railways working for the convenience of passengers
Ashwini Vaishnav has told that till December 4, 2025, one-time password facility has been made mandatory for booking tickets of 322 railway trains. Since the implementation of such measures, Tatkal ticket availability time has increased in about 65 per cent of these trains. Additionally, Aadhaar-based OTP for instant booking at reservation counters has also been introduced in a phased manner and has been implemented in 211 trains by 4th December. As a result of such measures, Tatkal ticket availability time has increased in about 95 per cent of 96 popular trains.

The Union Minister informed that to further strengthen cyber security, RailTel Corporation of India Limited provides comprehensive cyber security intelligence services, including take-down services, threat monitoring, deep and dark web monitoring and digital risk protection. These services provide proactive and actionable information about emerging cyber threats and enable better incident response.

Many changes in train ticket booking this year
Railways have made many important changes in recent years. For example, now ticket booking Aadhar linking is being promoted for correct identification of the passenger.
