Railway Special Trains: Railway support in air travel crisis! Mega plan, 89 special trains will run for the next 3 days

In response to increasing passenger numbers and flight cancellations, By Indian Railways It has been decided to run 89 special trains in the next three days. These trains will operate more than 100 trips, facilitating the journey of passengers between major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Howrah and Hyderabad. Northern Railway (NER) will run six special trains between Delhi and Mumbai. The initiative aims to provide a unified travel experience and meet the growing demand for rail travel.
Considering the increasing number of passengers due to winter season and flight cancellations, By Indian Railways It is ready to provide comfort to the passengers. From today, over the next three days, 89 special trains will be run across the country, making more than 100 trips. The primary purpose of these trains is to facilitate the travel of passengers in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Howrah and Hyderabad. Northern Railway (NER) will run six special trains between Delhi and Mumbai, bringing significant convenience to passengers traveling between the two cities.
Central Railway
Central Railway has planned to run 14 special trains to meet the growing demand of passengers. This includes train number 014113/01414 Pune-Bengaluru-Pune, which will run on December 6 and 7. Besides, 01409/01410 Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Pune on December 7 and 9, 01019/01020 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Madgaon-LTT on December 7 and 8, 010177/01078 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Hazrat Nizamuddin-CSMT on December 6 and 7. on, 010115/010116 LTT-Lucknow-LTT on 6 and 7 December, 01012/011011 Nagpur-CSMT-Nagpur on 6 and 7 December, 05587/05588 Gorakhpur-LTT-Gorakhpur on 7 and 9 December and 08245/08246 Bilaspur-LTT-Bilaspur 10th and 12th December.
South Eastern Railway
South Eastern Railway has also organized special trains. This includes 08073/08074 Santragachi-Yelhanka-Santragachi. 08073 will depart Santragachi on 7th December and 08074 will return from Yelahanka on 9th December. 02870/02869 Howrah-CSMT-Howrah Special, will depart from Howrah on 6th December and 02869 will depart from CSMT on 8th December. 07148/07149 Cherlapally-Shalimar-Cherlapally, 07148 will depart from Cherlapally on 6th December and 07149 will depart from Shalimar on 8th December.
South Central Railway
To manage the extra rush of passengers, South Central Railway is running three special trains today, December 6, 2025. Cherlapalli to Shalimar Train No. 07148, Secunderabad to Chennai Egmore Train No. 07146 and Hyderabad to Mumbai LTT Train No. 07150 have departed today.

Eastern Railway
Eastern Railway will run special train services between Howrah, Sealdah and major destinations. Train No. 03009/03010 Howrah-New Delhi-Howrah Special, will depart from Howrah on 6th December and 03010 will depart from New Delhi on 8th December. Train No. 03127/03128 Sealdah-LTT-Sealdah Special, will depart from Sealdah on 6th December and 03128 will depart from LTT on 9th December.
Western Railway
Western Railway has planned to run seven special trains to meet the increasing travel demand. This includes train number 09001/09002 Mumbai Central-Bhiwani Superfast Special (twice weekly), which will depart from Mumbai Central every Tuesday and Friday from 9th to 30th December. This train will run from Bhiwani every Wednesday and Saturday from December 10 to 31. There will be a total of 14 rounds of this train. This train will stop at Borivali, Palghar, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Vijayanagar, Nasirabad, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Gandhinagar Jaipur, Bandikui, Alwar, Rewari, Kosli and Charkhi Dadri stations in both directions.
Train No. 09003/09004 Mumbai Central-Shakur Basti Superfast Special will run from Mumbai Central daily except Tuesdays and Fridays from December 8 to 29. It will run from Shakur Basti every day except Wednesdays and Saturdays from December 9 to 30, making a total of 32 trips. Booking has started from 6th December. Train No. 09730/09729 Bandra Terminus-Durgapura Superfast Special, 09730 will depart from Bandra Terminus on December 8 and 09729 will depart from Durgapura on December 7. Booking for this train has also started from 6th December. This train will have First AC, AC-2 Tier, AC-3 Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.
Additional service from Gorakhpur
Due to increasing passenger demand, Indian Railways will operate additional services from Gorakhpur. Train No. 05591/05592 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur will run two trips, departing from Gorakhpur on 7th and 8th December and from Anand Vihar Terminal on 8th and 9th December. Train No. 05587/05588 Gorakhpur-LTT-Gorakhpur will leave Gorakhpur on 7th December and LTT on 9th December.
Special trains from Bihar
To facilitate winter travel from Bihar, East Central Railway will run special trains from Patna and Darbhanga to Anand Vihar Terminal. Train No. 02309/02310 Patna-Anand Vihar Terminal-Patna will depart from Patna on 6th and 8th December and from Anand Vihar Terminal on 7th and 9th December. Train No. 02395/02396 Patna-Anand Vihar Terminal-Patna will depart from Patna on 7th December and from Anand Vihar Terminal on 8th December. Train No. 05563/05564 Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Terminal-Darbhanga will depart from Darbhanga on 7th December and from Anand Vihar Terminal on 9th December.
North Western Railway Special Trains
North Western Railway will run two special trains on one-trip basis to reduce the rush of passengers during the coming travel season. Train No. 04725 Hisar-Khadki Special will depart from Hisar on 7th December 2025, while the return service, Train No. 04726 Khadki-Hissar Special will depart from Khadki on 8th December 2025. North Western Railway will also operate a one-trip special fare special train, train number 09729 Durgapura-Bandra Terminus Special, which will depart from Durgapura on December 7. Return service, Train No. 09730 Bandra Terminus-Durgapura Special will leave Bandra Terminus on December 8.

North Central Railway Special Trains
For the convenience of passengers, North Central Railway will run special trains between Prayagraj and New Delhi. Train No. 02417 will depart from Prayagraj on 6th and 8th December and return Train No. 02418 will depart from New Delhi on 7th and 9th December. This will make a total of two rounds in both directions. Similarly, train number 02275 will depart from Prayagraj on December 7 and return train number 02276 will depart from New Delhi on December 8, making one trip in each direction.
Northern Railway Special Trains
Northern Railway will run 02439 New Delhi-Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Udhampur Vande Bharat on 6th December 2025. Related 02440 Udhampur-New Delhi Vande Bharat will also run on the same date. This will ensure fast and comfortable travel between the national capital and Jammu and Kashmir. To facilitate long distance travel between Northern and Western Railway, train 04002 New Delhi-Mumbai Central will run on 6 December 2025, while return service 04001 Mumbai Central-New Delhi will run on 7 December 2025. Northern Railway will connect Delhi with Southern Railway by 04080 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Central Special scheduled on 6 December 2025. To strengthen regional mobility on the South Central Railway network, train 07703 Chalaipally-Jalimir will run on 7 December 2025.
Special train between Durg and Hazrat Nizamuddin
A special train will be run between Durg and Hazrat Nizamuddin to manage the winter rush. Train 08760 will depart from Durg on 7th December 2025 and Train 08761 will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin on 8th December 2025.
