Rain alert again in Delhi-NCR, relief from heat of March in February itself, big update from IMD
This time the month of February itself is giving the feeling of summer in the plains of North-West India including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Where the maximum temperature has reached 31 degrees Celsius, due to which people are feeling the scorching heat like March. According to the Meteorological Department, this unusual heat will soon give some relief with light rain, but after this the temperature is going to rise again.
Weather experts say that due to the effect of western disturbance, there may be light rain in Delhi on February 18, which will cause a slight drop in the temperature. However, from February 19, the weather will start clearing again and the temperature will reach around 30 degrees. This change will bring immediate relief to the people of North India, but the heat wave is likely to continue for a long time.
Drizzle expected in Delhi
The sky has started becoming cloudy in Delhi from today and the effect of fog can also be seen in the morning. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with clouds on 18 February. There may be rain after noon with strong winds, thunder and lightning, which may continue till evening also. From February 19, the weather will start becoming normal and the rain will stop.
Weather of Uttarakhand and Himachal
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light to moderate rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayan region on February 17 and 18. There are chances of light rain with thunder in the plains of North-West India like Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The temperature in these areas will be 2 to 4 degrees higher than normal, but there will be some relief on February 18.
Light to moderate rain and snowfall expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 18-19 February. Strong winds with thunderstorms in Andaman and Nicobar. Winds will blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour with thunderstorms in Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 16 to 18 February.
Rain alert in Punjab-Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan: There is a possibility of rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan on 17-18 February.

There will be rain at some places along with thunder and lightning in Madhya Pradesh on 18th February.
Tamil Nadu and Kerala
There is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe on 21-22 February.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for February 16 and 17 in the Bay of Bengal and parts of the Indian Ocean, February 18 along the Sri Lankan coast, February 19 and 20 in the Gulf of Mannar and Comorin area. There is no warning in the Arabian Sea.
