Rain alert in 8 states including UP, Bihar, 50 km…

The heat wave is continuously increasing across the country, but IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has predicted light rain and strong winds in the next few days in eight states including UP, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Sikkim.

Weather Forecast: The temperature is increasing rapidly in all the states across the country including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. The strong sunlight during the day is troubling people a lot. In Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the day temperature is likely to be 8 to 12 degrees Celsius above normal for the next four days i.e. till March 9. Whereas in the plains of North-West India the temperature may remain higher by 6 to 8 degrees.

Also, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in 8 states. In such a situation, people have been advised to be alert and make necessary arrangements according to the weather in their areas.

Temperature rising across the country

Day temperatures have increased rapidly in many parts of the country including Delhi, UP and Bihar. According to weather experts, the day temperature in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is likely to be 8 to 12 degrees Celsius above normal for the next four days i.e. till March 9. Whereas in the plains of North-West India this increase can be up to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius.

According to IMD, a new western disturbance will be active between March 9 and 11. Due to its impact, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan regions. Apart from this, there may be rain with thunder and strong winds in some parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal.

State wise weather information

Delhi

The weather will be clear in Delhi on March 8 and the temperature may reach 34–36 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are likely to be above normal at many places. There will be light clouds in the sky on 9th and 10th March. In the morning the wind speed will be from the west direction at 10 kilometers per hour, while by afternoon it may increase up to 16 kilometers per hour.

Uttar Pradesh

The effect of heat is being felt in Lucknow and other districts of the state. Daytime temperatures may remain 3–7 degrees Celsius above normal. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder in the areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh on March 9 and 10. During this period the wind speed can range from 30 to 50 kilometers per hour.

Bihar

In Bihar too, light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is expected in the next two days i.e. on March 9 and 10. The temperature is likely to be above normal.

Himachal Pradesh

The day temperature in Himachal Pradesh between March 8–13 may be 8–12 degrees Celsius above normal. During this period, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in some areas. Heatwave-like conditions may also occur in some parts on March 8.

Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim

There is a possibility of thunderstorm and light rain in Odisha from 8 to 9 March, in West Bengal and Sikkim from 9 to 10 March. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Jharkhand between March 9 and 11. During this period the wind speed can reach up to 50 km/hour.
