Due to the cyclical winds and heat created in the Bay of Bengal, Maharashtra is currently receiving rains. Importantly, there is a possibility of rain in most of the districts of Maharashtra for the next four days.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of rain in Konkan, Khandesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha today on October 18. Apart from 9 districts namely Palghar, Nandurbar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Jalgaon, Buldhana, Akola, Nagpur and Bhandara, remaining 27 districts are likely to receive rain.

Accordingly, yellow alert has been given to these 27 districts by the Meteorological Department. Apart from some districts of Vidarbha, north Maharashtra and some districts of Marathwada, rain is expected in the rest of the districts tomorrow on October 19 and October 20.

Against this backdrop, yellow alert has also been given to these respective districts. On October 21, the intensity of rain will decrease somewhat. A yellow alert for rain has been issued on 21st only in the districts around Madhya Bindu of Madhya Maharashtra.

Overall the state has favorable conditions for rain till 21st. After 21st, however, the intensity of rain in the state will reduce considerably. After the 21st it is said that the rains will open.

The current rains are becoming dangerous for Kharif season harvestable crops, onion and orchard crops. But this rain will be beneficial for the upcoming Rabi season. All crops including rabi season wheat and gram are expected to benefit from this rain.
