Raipur News: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Chhattisgarh’s famous folk festival Chherchhera. On this occasion, he wished for the happiness, prosperity and continuous progress of the state.

Chief Minister Sai said that Chherchhera is a festival symbolizing Mahadan, social harmony and charity, which vividly expresses the rich, glorious and human values-filled tradition of Chhattisgarh. This festival is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm on the full moon day of Pausha month to celebrate the arrival of the new crop.

The Chief Minister said that Mother Shakambhari Jayanti is also celebrated on this day, which gives the message of conservation of food, nature and life. According to mythological belief, on this day Lord Shiva took alms from Mother Annapurna. According to this tradition, on Chherchera festival, people show mutual cooperation, compassion and humanity by donating vegetables, fruits and other grains along with paddy.

Chief Minister Sai said that Chherchhera festival inspires us to strengthen the spirit of mutual love, harmony and shared prosperity in the society. He called upon all the people of the state to celebrate this folk festival with harmony, joy and traditional values.
