6 forest workers who helped in stopping elephant-human conflict honored

Raipur News: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai today released the book Gajrath Yatra-2025 at his personal residence Bagiya. In this book, the classification of elephant roaming areas and sensitive areas in Jashpur district, awareness campaigns being run at the school level, establishment of Gaj Information and Control Room, technical initiative Animal Tracker App training for human-elephant conflict management and expansion and achievements of Gajrath Yatra across the district have been included in detail.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored six forest workers who have done remarkable work in the field of reducing elephant-human conflict and creating public awareness by giving them certificates. These include Forester Umesh Pankra, Forest Guard Durgesh Nandan Sai and Mahattam Ram Soni, Ganesh Ram and Ravi Shankar Pankra from RRT, Phool Singh Sidar from Hathi Mitra Dal.

Chief Minister Sai said that the information contained in the book will be helpful to the general public in understanding the behavior of elephants, identifying sensitive areas and adopting necessary vigilance measures. Praising the awareness campaigns being run at the school level, he said that connecting children with nature and wildlife conservation is a big achievement for the future.

Praising the honored forest workers and RRT members, he said that due to their alertness, courage and spirit of service, major incidents have been averted in many villages, due to which it has been possible to save life and property. During this, Commissioner Narendra Kumar Dugga, IG Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Shashimohan Singh and Divisional Forest Officer Shashi Kumar and other officers were present.
