Raipur News: The much awaited Futhamuda canal construction project in the urban development block of Dhamtari district is now rapidly taking shape. This ambitious scheme is being considered as a historic initiative towards strengthening the irrigation system of the area as well as bringing permanent positive changes in the lives of farmers.

Starting from Sandal Dam of Gangrel Reservoir, village Futhamuda, this approximately 19.74 kilometer long canal project will provide assured irrigation facility to approximately 1940 hectares of agricultural area in 22 villages of the urban development block. According to the District Administration and Water Resources Department, this project will not be limited to irrigation only, but it will give new strength to the rural economy.
