Raipur News: The closing ceremony of Sansad Sports Mahotsav – ‘Fit Youth, Developed India’ was held today in an enthusiastic and dignified atmosphere at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was present as the chief guest. During the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and MPs from across the country connected through video conferencing and addressed the closing ceremony virtually. The crowd present in the auditorium listened attentively to the inspiring address of the Prime Minister.

Chief Minister Sai started his address with best wishes on Good Governance Day and paid tribute to Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that events like Sansad Sports Mahotsav – ‘Fit Youth, Developed India’ strengthen the sports culture among the young generation and provide a powerful platform to the talented players to move forward.

Chief Minister Sai said that this festival was organized at 36 different places in Raipur parliamentary constituency for about four months. In this, school-college students as well as citizens of rural and urban areas participated enthusiastically. He specially congratulated MP Brijmohan Aggarwal for this comprehensive and well-organized event.

Chief Minister Sai said that in sports, only first, second or third place is not everything, but the qualities of discipline, team-spirit, dedication and continuous practice make someone a great player. He expressed confidence that many players will emerge from this festival, who will bring glory to Chhattisgarh and the country at the national and international level. Chief Minister Sai said that the government is committed to giving wings to the dreams of the players. He said that such events are providing golden opportunities to sports talents to move forward.

The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government is continuously taking concrete steps to promote sports. Sports investiture ceremony has been started again in Chhattisgarh. On the selection of players from the state in the Olympics, an incentive amount of Rs 21 lakh will be provided and gold, silver and bronze medal winners will be provided Rs 3 crore, Rs 2 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively.

He said that Chhattisgarh has got the hosting of ‘Khelo India Tribal Games’ in the year 2026, which is a matter of pride for the state. Raipur’s International Cricket Stadium is the third largest stadium in the country and big matches will be organized here again in the month of January. The work of grooming new sports talents is being done by setting up Khelo India offices at various places.

Addressing the program, MP Brijmohan Aggarwal said that the MP Sports Mahotsav – ‘Fit Youth, Developed India’ was started on August 29 and the event was successfully completed at 36 places in Raipur Lok Sabha constituency. He said that not only education, but also sports are equally important in life and through this, children can bring glory to the country and the state. There was participation from 542 villages in this festival and more than 85 thousand players took part, which is a record participation in the entire country.

He said that a beautiful coordination of traditional and modern sports was seen in this festival. The participation of 70 year old women in the Gedi competition, enthusiastic performances in sports like Kabaddi, Fugdi, Volleyball and participation of transgender players in tug of war—all gave a powerful message of social harmony and inclusion. Youth who have left school also got an opportunity to showcase their talent and experienced players were honoured.

MP Aggarwal said that about 1,500 sports officials, school teachers and retired sports officials had an important contribution in making this grand event successful. Competitions were also organized in university campuses. Congratulating all the players and organizers, he said that in the coming times, the Sansad Sports Mahotsav will be given a more organized, comprehensive and effective form.

The winning players were rewarded in the closing ceremony. The team securing first place in group games was given an incentive of Rs 11,000, second place was given Rs 5,000 and in individual games, first place was given Rs 3,100 and second place was given Rs 1,000 along with medals, citation and T-shirt.

MLA Rajesh Munat, Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, MLA Kiran Singh Dev, District Panchayat President Naveen Aggarwal, NAN President Sanjay Srivastava, District Panchayat CEO Kumar Biswaranjan, public representatives, officials of the Sports Department and a large number of school children and citizens were present in the program.
