In an interview, Riteish Deshmukh said that he comes from a Marathi family and has grown up listening to the stories of bravery of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj since childhood. According to him, Shivaji Maharaj is not only a historical personality but also an inspiration for millions of people even today. He said,
‘We have been listening to his stories since childhood. His relevance remains as strong even today. There have been very few such kings in the world whose influence is still alive in the hearts of people even after more than 300 years.
Ritesh also said that he wants to show that inspiration truthfully on the big screen through the film.
A different form of Shivaji Maharaj will be seen in the film
Riteish Deshmukh told that the story of the film is not only a saga of war and victory, but it will also show the life of Shivaji Maharaj as a human being. He said that in the film the audience will be treated to a king as well.
