Rajasthan’s ‘topper’ SDM Kajal Meena arrested, caught red handed taking bribe; There was a stir in the administrative department

SDM Kajal Meena Arrested: SDM Kajal Meena posted in Karauli district of Rajasthan has been arrested in a serious case of corruption. The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) took action on April 16 and detained him along with his reader and another associate.

It is alleged that Kajal Meena, her reader Dinesh Kumar Saini and senior assistant Praveen Dhakad were caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 60,000 for issuing the final order related to the land dispute. The complainant accused Meena of harassing her for bribe.

Bribe was being taken through reader

According to ACB, Kajal Meena was demanding money from the complainant through her reader Dinesh Kumar Saini. Initially a demand of Rs 1 lakh was made, which was later reduced to Rs 50 thousand. During the investigation, the ACB team laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while taking Rs 60,000. In this, Rs 50 thousand has been given for Meena and Rs 10 thousand for the reader.

ACB took action after complaint

ACB Director General Govind Gupta said that the Sawai Madhopur unit had received a complaint from a person alleging that SDM Meena was continuously pressurizing him for bribe. After confirming the complaint, the team conducted a trap operation and arrested the accused. After this a case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Suspension and investigation ongoing

After the arrest, the Personnel Department has suspended Kajal Meena with immediate effect. An official order in this regard was also issued on Saturday. At the same time, ACB has also recovered suspicious cash worth about Rs 4 lakh from the accused, which is being investigated. Officials say that there may be more revelations in this case.

Who is Kajal Meena?

Kajal Meena is a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer of 2024 batch and has been a topper in the ST category. He has done B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mandi. During training he was appointed as Assistant Collector in Tonk. After this, she has also served on the post of SDO in Suhagpura of Pratapgarh district.
