Rajasthan Royals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets, RCB gets its first defeat of the season.
Tezzbuzz Desk- In the 16th match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals performed brilliantly and maintained their winning streak by defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets. In this match played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Rajasthan achieved the target of 202 runs in just 17.5 overs.
The start of the match was slightly delayed due to rain, but the full overs were played and the spectators got to see a high-scoring match.
RCB had a very bad start after losing the toss and coming to bat first. Jofra Archer gave a big blow to the team by dismissing Phil Salt on the very first ball.
After this, captain Rajat Patidar took up the responsibility of handling the batting. He gave stability to the team by scoring 63 runs in 40 balls. Virat Kohli also played a swashbuckling inning of 32 runs, while impact player Venkatesh Iyer added unbeaten 29 runs in 15 balls to take the score beyond 200.
RCB scored 201 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
For Rajasthan, Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi and Brijesh Sharma took 2-2 wickets. Whereas Ravindra Jadeja and Sandeep Sharma got 1-1 success.
Chasing the target of 202 runs, Rajasthan had an ordinary start and Yashasvi Jaiswal was out early. But after this young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi completely changed the course of the match.
He scored 78 runs in just 26 balls, which included 8 fours and 7 sixes. His strike rate was 300, which put RCB bowlers under complete pressure. Dhruv Jurel played his role brilliantly. There was a partnership of 108 runs between the two for the second wicket. Jurel also batted brilliantly and scored unbeaten 81 runs on 43 balls. In the end Ravindra Jadeja scored unbeaten 24 runs and led the team to victory.
With this win, Rajasthan Royals registered their fourth consecutive win in the season and retained the first position in the points table. Whereas Royal Challengers Bengaluru had to face its first defeat of this season, before this the team had won two consecutive matches.
This match will be especially remembered for the explosive innings of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, which made the match completely one-sided.
