Approval is yet to be received from BCCI

The deal also adds the Rajasthan Royals franchise to other leagues including the Paarl Royals and Barbados Royals teams. This deal will be completed when it is approved by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), CCI and IPL Apex Council meeting. It is believed that this agreement can be completed in the third quarter of 2026.

Let us tell you that earlier, the Somani-led American consortium had offered US $ 1.63 billion (about Rs 15290 crore) for Rajasthan Royals, but according to reports, it could not pass the proper due diligence process due to several issues. The Mittal family issued a statement saying, Lakshmi N Mittal and Aditya Mittal have today announced that they have agreed to acquire Rajasthan Royals from Manoj Badale and his group along with Adar Poonawala.

Mittal family will retain 75 percent stake

According to a statement issued by the Mittal family, the Mittal family will take approximately 75 percent stake in Rajasthan Royals, while Adar Poonawala will hold 18 percent. The remaining seven percent will be retained by existing investors, including Manoj Badale. Lakshmi N in the new board of Rajasthan Royals.
