IPL 2026 is going to start from this month. The schedule of the tournament has been announced. The opening match will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad on 28 March. Both the teams will face each other at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Let us tell you that the schedule of the first phase of IPL 2026 has just been announced. In the first phase, all the teams will play a total of 4-4 matches, but there is a bad news for the fans of Rajasthan Royals, because in the first phase, Rajasthan Royals team will not play a single match in its first home ground, Jaipur.

20 matches will be played in the first phase of IPL 2026.

BCCI has announced the schedule of the first phase of IPL 2026. This is happening because there are assembly elections in some states. Keeping this in mind, the schedule of IPL is being made, which will be released in 2 phases. A total of 20 matches will be played in the first phase from March 28 to April 12. In which double header match will also be played for 4 days. Rajasthan Royals team will also play a total of 4 matches in the first phase, but a bad news for the fans of Rajasthan Royals is that the team will not play a single match in its first home ground Jaipur in the first phase.

Rajasthan Royals team will not play a single match in Jaipur

Rajasthan Royals team will play 3 out of its first 4 matches of IPL 2026 at its second home ground, Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Whereas one match will be played against Gujarat Titans at their home ground Narendra Modi Stadium. According to the released schedule, Rajasthan Royals team will not play even one of its first 4 matches at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rajasthan Royce looking for new captain

Before the IPL 2026 auction, a big trail deal took place between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. This deal was made regarding Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja. To add Sanju Samson, Chennai Super Kings sent Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals. After the departure of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals are now looking for a new captain. If seen, currently Ravindra Jadeja is the only player in the Rajasthan Royals team who has the most experience of playing IPL. However, there is little hope that RR will make Jadeja the captain. Its Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag are also in the race for captaincy. Now it remains to be seen who the Rajasthan Royals team appoints as captain for IPL 2026.
