Rajinikanth calls Dhar “box office ka baap” as ‘Dhurandhar 2’ runs strong
A short social media post by Rajinikanth has added fresh attention to the already strong run of Dhurandhar 2a film that is steadily shaping this year’s box office story.
On 23 March, the veteran actor praised director Aditya Dhar and called him “box office ka baap”. The line quickly spread online, with fans picking it up and repeating it across platforms.
Rajinikanth also congratulated Ranveer Singh and the film’s team, saying the film is a must-watch. His message comes at a time when the film is already drawing large crowds in cinemas.
Released on 19 March in several languages, Dhurandhar 2 has reported strong numbers in its first few days. It crossed Rs 400 crore net in India and went beyond Rs 700 crore worldwide, helped by packed weekend shows and steady turnout during weekdays.
The film has also seen support from across the industry. Actors like Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Akshay Kumar and Vijay Deverakonda have shared their reactions online.
With a cast that includes Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, the sequel continues the story of Hamza, also known as Jaskirat Singh Ranghi, before his mission to Pakistan.
