Laughter echoed in Parliament: When Rajiv Shukla took a dig at Shivraj Singh, said – Took Modi ji’s name 200 times, yet…
Rajiv Shukla Parliament Speech: Parliament proceedings are often known for heated debates and uproar, but sometimes there are moments in the House that lighten up the serious atmosphere. A similar scene was seen in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday when Congress MP Rajeev Shukla, in his familiar witty style, took a dig at Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
This style of Rajeev Shukla was not only liked by the members present in the House, but now its video is also going viral on social media.
‘What a chamchagiri bhai…’
As soon as Rajiv Shukla’s name was called to discuss the Appropriation Bill and the functioning of the Rural Development Ministry in the House and he stood up to speak, noise started from the ruling party. On this, Shukla taunted in a very casual manner and said, ‘Hey, what a chamchagiri bhai?’ At least calm down.” He further addressed the members of the ruling party and said that he too has known Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the last 30 years.
Smiling, Shukla said that the Prime Minister himself did not like so much praise as was being given in his name in the House that day. This frank comment for once silenced even the noisy members.
Rajiv Shukla took a dig at Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Parliament.
The most interesting part of the discussion was when Rajiv Shukla directly questioned the style of speech of Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He quipped that Shivraj ji must have taken the name of the Prime Minister at least 200 times in his long speech.

Shukla further said in a sarcastic tone that often when the Prime Minister likes someone’s speech, he appreciates it by tweeting. But the surprising thing is that despite Shivraj Singh chanting his name so many times, the Prime Minister has not made any tweet for him till now. At this comment, laughter echoed in the corridors of the House and even the presiding officer Rajni Ashokrao Patil could not stop smiling.
Was there nothing in the country before 2014? Shukla raised questions
Rajiv Shukla also raised serious questions on the claims of Shivraj Singh Chouhan in which he had indicated that whatever development has taken place in the country has become possible only after 2014. Citing history, Shukla asked whether electric poles, railways or roads did not exist in the country before 2014?

He met former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and H.D. Referring to Deve Gowda’s tenure, he reminded that development is a continuous process and cannot be limited to a specific time frame only. His argument was that every period has had its own importance in the progress of the country and it cannot be completely denied.
