Rajkumar Rao said this at the television premiere

1. Can you tell us something about your character and how you prepared for it?

My character, Mr. Mahi, is a failed cricketer who has become a dedicated coach who is instrumental in guiding Mahima, played by Janhvi Kapoor, in her cricketing journey. He is not only a mentor but also a partner who has faced his own struggles in the game. To prepare for this role, I immersed myself in the world of cricket and underwent extensive training to understand the techniques and strategies of the game. I spent time with professional cricketers to gain insight into their mindset and the emotional aspects of being an athlete. After this there was the part of working with Mrs. Mahi because that relationship is the life of this film. We did some readings and had a lot of discussions with Sharan about our characters. This preparation helped me play the character authentically and brought depth to his journey.

2. What attracted you to play this character in Mr. & Mrs. Mahi?

What drew my attention to Mr. and Mrs. Mahi was that it explored love and relationships based on ambition. Also, I got a chance to work with Sharan who is a very sensitive filmmaker. This story is based on mutual conflicts and challenges that test relationships over time. I was especially excited to play a character who not only supports a female athlete but also struggles with her own aspirations and weaknesses. This film beautifully highlights the journey of family, support and two people growing together, which connects with me deeply.

3. How important is it for you to have an understanding partner?

It is very important to support each other and encourage each other in relationships. A strong foundation of mutual respect and encouragement is what helps us overcome success and challenges.

4. How was your experience working with Janhvi Kapoor?

My relationship with Janhvi is something that I really cherish. Having worked together before, we have built a strong bond which makes working together on the set comfortable. Janhvi is really very talented and brings tremendous energy to her roles. I admire his dedication and passion for his work. We have a great friendship, where we support each other and motivate each other, which is important, especially in a film like Mr & Mrs Mahi which has such emotional depth. It has been a great pleasure to grow together as actors and share this journey on screen.

5. The world television premiere of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi is going to happen on &pictures. In such a situation, what do you think the audience will take away from your character?

With the world television premiere of Mr. & Mrs. Mahi on &Pictures, I hope the audience understands the importance of love, support and courage in relationships. My character reflects the idea that being there for each other is as important as pursuing your dreams. This film beautifully shows how families can overcome challenges through teamwork and mutual understanding. I want the audience to appreciate that when we push each other, we can overcome any challenge and achieve many things with each other's support.
