Rajnath Singh Takes Holy Dip at Prayagraj's Mahakumbh 2025
On January 18, 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Prayagraj to participate in the ongoing Mahakumbh festival. He immersed himself in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers converge.
Rajnath Singh also performed Aarti and offered prayers, reflecting on the spiritual significance of the event.
A Festival of Spirituality and Unity
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh shared his deep fulfillment after taking a dip in the holy confluence. He described the Mahakumbh as a celebration of Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma, rooted in ancient Vedic astronomical principles.
He noted that devotees from various castes, creeds, and countries come together, showcasing the unity of India.

Singh also lauded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his efforts in organizing the Mahakumbh. He emphasized the festival’s role in promoting not only spirituality but also social harmony, further highlighting the sense of unity that the event brings to people across the world.

The Mahakumbh in Prayagraj has seen over 7.3 crore devotees visit in just six days, marking it as one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also acknowledged the significance of this event in fostering national unity.
