Rajpal Yadav Case: Actor Rajpal Yadav is in the headlines these days. The case against him is going on in Delhi High Court today in the check bounce case of Rs 9 crore. This matter is related to his film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. In the year 2010, a company named Murali Project Private Limited had given him about Rs 5 crore for the production of this film. The film was not successful at the box office, after which Rajpal Yadav could not return the money to the company due to financial loss. Many checks given to repay this loan bounced, after which a case has been registered against him under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.
What has happened till now?
On this matter, the lower court had sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment in the year 2018, which was later upheld by the Sessions Court. Despite getting relief from the High Court, the court has ordered them to surrender for not making the payment within the stipulated time. On January 5, 2026, he surrendered in Tihar Jail.
