Rajpal Yadav: Actor Rajpal Yadav was released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Tuesday, 17 February 2026 after getting interim bail from the Delhi High Court. This bail was related to a check bounce case, which started from one of his loan disputes. After coming out of jail, Rajpal Yadav thanked his supporters and appealed to the film industry to give him work again. He also said that soon he will present his views before the media.

Rajpal Yadav’s appeal

Speaking to India Today, Rajpal said that he is grateful for the love and support he has received from people in Indian cinema throughout his life. He said- From children to people of all ages, I always got love and support. For this I thank everyone wholeheartedly.

He also made a heartfelt appeal to my colleagues in the film industry, who have helped me in the past, requesting them to once again give me an opportunity to play the character of my choice. The money will be as per their wish.

Got support from Bollywood

Rajpal Yadav said that he received a lot of encouragement from both online and offline. During this time many big stars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Varun Dhawan and Sonu Sood helped him. His manager Goldie told The Indian Express that Yadav is grateful not only to his supporters but also to his critics.

Rajpal said- Every blessing took me forward. I thank those who support me on social media and also those who criticize me.

Will clarify in press conference

Rajpal Yadav said that he will soon talk directly to the media and present his views. He said- All legal matters are pending in the High Court. Since the case is sub judice, I do not want to comment right now and fully respect the court’s decision. We will answer all the questions honestly by holding a press conference in the coming days.

Jail experience and thoughts towards society

Regarding his time in jail, Yadav said that he learned many new things while interacting with other prisoners. He urged the authorities to give deserving prisoners the opportunity of rehabilitation. He said- There are about 20,000 prisoners in Tihar Jail. After listening to their stories, I felt that about 10 percent of them should get another chance in life.

Rajpal also said that many prisoners had committed only one mistake but they had to stay in jail for years. Among the 20,000 prisoners, there are some who made a mistake once and are now in jail for 10 years. If 10 percent of them get a second chance, it can bring a big change. While sharing his experience, he said that there is a system in the jail, I had to live according to it and bear it by remaining positive.

Case related to ‘missing address’

Rajpal Yadav’s legal troubles started with his directorial project ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. Due to the film not being commercially successful, there was a dispute over the repayment of the loan, which later escalated to a check bounce issue.

In 2018, Rajpal and his wife were convicted in a check bounce case and sentenced to six months in jail. However, the sentence was later postponed so that a settlement could be negotiated. He had to surrender in early February 2026 and was finally granted bail on 16 February 2026.
