Rajya Sabha Elections 2026: Congress released the list of six candidates, announced these names including Abhishek Manu Singhvi
New Delhi. Congress on Thursday announced the names of six candidates in five states for the Rajya Sabha elections (Rajya Sabha Elections 2026). Congress has fielded senior leaders Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narendra Reddy from Telangana. Reddy is an advisor to the Chief Minister of Telangana. Whereas once again the sitting Rajya Sabha member and tribal leader Phulo Devi Netam has been declared the candidate from Chhattisgarh.

The party has nominated Karamveer Singh Buddh from Haryana, Christopher Tilak from Tamil Nadu and Anurag Sharma from Himachal Pradesh.
Phulo Devi candidate for the second consecutive time
54 year old Phulo Devi Netam is a resident of Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh and has been active in the politics of tribal society for a long time. Congress had sent him to Rajya Sabha for the first time in 2020 and now before the end of his term, the party has nominated him for the second consecutive time.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narendra Reddy from Telangana.
Phulo Devi Netam from Chhattisgarh.

Dalit face Karamveer Singh made candidate
Party candidate from Haryana, Karamveer Singh comes from the Buddhist Dalit community and has been working to strengthen the party by being active in the organization for a long time. Congress candidate from Himachal Pradesh, Anurag Sharma is counted among the emerging young faces of the party and has been playing an active role in the politics of the state. Tamil Nadu candidate Christopher Tilak has been associated with the organization for a long time and his role is considered important in strengthening the party’s presence in South India.
Elections on 37 seats in 10 states on March 16
Let us tell you that Rajya Sabha elections for 37 seats in ten states are going to be held on March 16. Counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5 pm. The tenure of 37 members elected from Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana will expire in the month of April, leaving the seats vacant for the election of new members. The last date for filing nominations is today March 5, after which scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on March 6. Candidates can withdraw their nomination till March 9.
