Ram Mandir Docation Scam: General Secretary of the Trust Champat Rai and Anil Mishra were accused in the Ram Mandir donation theft case. Rai and Mishra also resigned due to these allegations. After their resignations, the atmosphere in Ayodhya seemed to calm down. Just as the situation calmed down a bit, Champat Rai heated up the atmosphere once again.

A day after the SIT’s preliminary report was made public, a social media post by Champat Rai has surfaced, which is believed to be his first official reaction till date. The post contained a letter addressed to Ram devotees. In the letter, he has dismissed the allegations against him as false. Also, he has said that he will give a systematic reply to these allegations soon. In the post, he also mentioned his 41-year career as a preacher and his association with the Ayodhya Ram temple since 1991.

Soon after Champat Rai’s X-post, another news related to him surfaced. A portion of his written statement to the SIT has been leaked. In this leaked document, Champat Rai has said that he had nothing to do with counting the money from donation boxes and depositing it in the bank.

The alleged donation misappropriation case in the Ram Mandir Trust has taken a new twist. Champat Rai has clarified that he was not a signatory to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the bank, claiming that he was not involved in that process. He also said that he has no knowledge of alleged donation theft or security lapses in the counting process.

What is shocking is that the alleged irregularities in the donation in this case have been indirectly blamed on Anil Mishra. Because it has been revealed that Anil Mishra has signed the relevant MoU. In the preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Anil Mishra has also been served with a notice and preparations for the investigation have been started.

Apart from this, some members from outside the Trust were also requested to attend the meeting.

Before the meeting, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das issued a leaflet expressing grief over the case of donation theft. He also expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, proper action will be taken against the culprits.
