The resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra were accepted in the important meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust held on Monday.

Ayodhya: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has taken an important step towards transparency by making public the detailed details of donations, offerings and financial transactions received by the Ram Temple. In the recent meeting of the Trust, data related to temple construction, operation and donations as well as key findings of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report were also shared. In the meeting, the resignations of Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra were accepted, while senior member Krishna Mohan was given the responsibility of interim General Secretary.

₹3,264 crore received from donations, huge investment made on construction works

According to the official financial statement released by the Trust, a total amount of ₹3,264 crore has been received so far through Nidhi Samarpan Campaign, corpus donation and other sources. Of this, about ₹2,370 crore has been spent on temple construction, infrastructure development and other capital projects. The Trust said that this expenditure has been incurred on the development of the temple complex, construction works and expansion of future facilities. The remaining amount is reserved for various projects and future requirements.

₹582 crore received from Ramlala’s offerings

According to the financial report, from the inception of the temple till March 31, 2026, Ramlala received a total of ₹ 582 crore as offerings from devotees. Of this amount, ₹391 crore has been spent on the operation, maintenance, security, administrative expenses and other routine activities of the temple. According to the trust, the remaining amount is safely deposited in its bank accounts and will be utilized as per the requirement as per the prescribed rules.

The Treasurer of the Trust informed that apart from cash donations, devotees have also donated a large number of gold, silver and other valuable items. A total of 2,926 in-kind gifts have been officially recorded so far. The details of each visit are recorded in the register as per the date. Additionally, every year an independent Chartered Accountant (CA) firm conducts physical verification of these items. The Trust also said that if any devotee wants to confirm his offering, he can contact the Trust and get the verification done.

Committee formed to select new CEO

During the meeting the Trust also decided to start the process of appointing a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). For this, a three-member selection committee has been formed. Retired Justice Pramod Kohli, Lieutenant General (retd) Vishnukant Chaturvedi and Suresh Howde have been included in this committee. The committee will submit its recommendation to the Trust, on the basis of which the new CEO will be appointed.

Key points of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report were also shared in the meeting. The report noted several administrative shortcomings related to donation management and security arrangements. During the investigation, cash deposits in excess of their income and suspicious financial transactions were found in the bank accounts of some employees. The report also recommends a detailed financial investigation if there are indications of stolen money being deposited in relatives’ accounts and property being purchased.
