New Delhi. Ram Rahim troubles increase: Ram Rahim's troubles have increased. The Supreme Court has given a big verdict in the case of insulting the holy book. In 2015, the court lifted the stay on proceedings against Ram Rahim in cases related to desecration of the holy book. The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to Ram Rahim on the petition of the Punjab government.

A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Vishwanathan also issued notice to Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on the appeal filed by the Punjab government against the High Court's stay on hearing the case. In March, the Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed proceedings in three cases against Ram Rahim.

This matter is related to insult of Guru Granth Sahib. These cases have been registered after the incidents in Bargari in Faridkot district, where the Sikh holy book Guru Granth Sahib was allegedly desecrated and disappeared. In December 2021, Ram Rahim approached the High Court and sought a CBI investigation into the three 2015 FIRs. After this the High Court stayed the proceedings of the case.

On 12 October 2015, parts of Guru Granth Sahib (Ram Rahim troubles increase) were found scattered in Bargari village of Faridkot. After this, FIR was registered under section 295, 120-B of IPC at Police Station Bazakhana. Ram Rahim is serving a 20-year sentence in Sunaria jail. Ram Rahim was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 in a torture case. Apart from this, Ram Rahim and three others have also been convicted in the journalist's murder case. In 2019, the court had convicted Ram Rahim in the journalist murder case.
