Ram temple offering controversy: Mayawati said – the culprits should be punished, but there should be no politics

Lucknow, 30 June. Now Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati’s reaction has also come to light on the controversy regarding Shri Ram temple offerings in Ayodhya. Describing the news of alleged theft, embezzlement and manipulation in offerings as serious and worrying, he has demanded strict action against the culprits. He also appealed to all political parties not to politicize this issue.

‘The culprits should not be spared, but there should be no politics either’

Mayawati wrote on social media platform He said that people found guilty in such cases should not be spared at any cost, but it is also not appropriate to give a political color to this entire episode. He suggested that to avoid such disputes in future, a similar system of transparent system of management and accounting of offerings which is implemented in other major and famous temples of the country should be adopted in Shri Ram Temple of Ayodhya.

Appeal to keep religion and politics separate

The BSP chief said that criminalization of politics, politicization of crime, politicization of religion and blind-religiousization of politics in the country are not in accordance with the spirit of democracy and the Constitution. He advised political parties to give priority to public interest and national interest and also appealed to the people to avoid politicization of this issue.

Mayawati also claimed that ‘the interest of Brahmin community is safe only in BSP’, as her party has always worked on the policy of ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay’ and has given respect and participation to all sections.

Controversy has emerged in recent times regarding the management of donations and offerings made by devotees at the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. The administration started investigating the matter after allegations of alleged irregularities in counting, maintenance and accounting of offerings were made. During the investigation, FIR has been registered against many people and some accused have also been arrested.

The investigating agencies are trying to find out at what level the alleged irregularities took place, how much money was affected and who played a role in it. The opposition is raising questions on the government and the temple management regarding this matter, while the government says that the investigation is going on in a fair manner and anyone found guilty will be given strict punishment as per the law.
