Ram temple offering theft case: Police admits organized crime, now preparing for Gangster Act against the accused

Ayodhya, Read: The police is considering the case of theft of offerings in Ram temple as an organized crime. According to sources, the police in its report has described it as a gang war crime. According to the report, the temple’s offering counting room was stolen about 70 times in about 40-42 days. An amount of Rs 6 to 8 lakh is estimated to be missing every day. Now the police is preparing to take action against the eight accused under the Gangster Act.

The police is calling the accused Avinash Shukla the gang leader. In the SIT report he has been described as accused number one. It is being told that during police remand, he confessed to theft worth crores. He also talked about spending Rs 19 lakh on family and friends. Cash, gold and silver, jewelery and foreign currency were also recovered from his locker. The investigation conducted by the police so far has revealed that the theft of the offering was a joint conspiracy of these eight accused.

All the accused used to steal Rs 50 thousand to Rs 1 lakh every day, not only this, all of them used to collect the stolen amount and distribute it equally. The police have also marked the place where the partition took place. The accused taken on remand have also confirmed this. After this, the police believe that this crime was committed by many people together in a planned manner and unanimously. Now it is considered certain that the investigation team can recommend action against all the accused under the Gangster Act. It has also been proposed to take action by running bulldozers on their houses.

Questions were also raised on the appointment of census personnel during Mahakumbh.

Police investigation is also raising questions on the appointment of new counting personnel during the Mahakumbh. The police has not yet got the answer to who appointed them and why. Sources say that during this period, no record of the amount received in offerings etc. has been found with the Trust. Regarding this, the investigation team has issued notices to more than 36 people and asked them to leave the city.

Additional security personnel deployed to protect the donation box

After the revelation of the offering theft scandal, the Trust is now trying to bring transparency in calculations and other works. Under this, additional security personnel have been deployed to protect the donation boxes kept in the temple premises. SSF personnel have been deployed to protect the donation box kept near pillar number five.

At the same time, strictness has been increased at the counting site. 13 new CCTVs have been installed. All blind spots are now completely covered. A separate staff has been deployed for special monitoring of the places from the time of withdrawal and counting of money from the donation box to the safe house, which keeps an eye on the CCTV continuously.
