Nirmala Sitharaman takes a trip down memory lane as anime returns to theaters in 4K – Obnews
'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama' is a great Indo-Japanese anime that depicts the victory of good over evil, harmony with nature and the enduring power of faith and friendship. The much-awaited remastered version of this beloved classic is set to hit theaters on January 24, 2025, giving audiences a new Ultra HD 4K experience of Valmiki's timeless epic.
Sparking new excitement, the film caught the attention of India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who shared the trailer on Twitter. He fondly recalled:
“A beautifully animated Ramayan. Always remember seeing this Japanese cultural treasure some time ago. It was shown at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 1993. Now it is releasing on the big screen.” Calling it a “Japanese cultural treasure”, Sitharaman's tweet underlined the cultural impact and historical significance of the film.
The cinematic release is backed by Geek Pictures India, AA Films and Excel Entertainment. 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Ram' will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
