Ranbir Kapoor Says He’s Not Part of Dhoom 4, Reveals His Current Film Slate – Read Here!

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor recently worked on his upcoming movie Ramayana and soon started promoting his movie. The actor did not mention Animal Park, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, while discussing his upcoming projects at San Diego Comic-Con. The Ramayana team recently attended the event to promote their highly anticipated film. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash interacted with fans and shared updates about the epic project. During a separate interaction on the sidelines, Ranbir spoke about his future films and dismissed rumours linking him to Dhoom 4. However, he did not refer to Animal Park, leaving fans curious about the status of the much-awaited sequel.

While speaking on the Review Nation YouTube channel, the host said Yash would star in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups alongside Ramayana and claimed that Ranbir Kapoor was part of Dhoom 4. Ranbir quickly dismissed the claim, clarifying that he is currently working only on Ramayana and Love & War. “No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War. Which is directed by Mr Sanjay Bhansali. That should be out on January 24 next year,” he stated. Love & War’s release date announcement states January 21 as its release date. He did not mention Animal Park, the sequel to his hit 2023 film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in his line-up.

Where Did These Rumours Come From?

Rumours about Ranbir Kapoor leading the Dhoom franchise have circulated for several years. In 2024, a Pinkvilla report quoted a source claiming that producer Aditya Chopra believed Ranbir was the perfect choice for the next film. The report also suggested the actor had expressed interest after several discussions. Around the same time, celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared photos of Ranbir’s new look, prompting fans to speculate it was for Dhoom 4 or Animal Park. In 2025, Peeping Moon reported that Vicky Kaushal was also being considered. However, Yash Raj Films has not made any official announcement so far.

About the Dhoom franchise

The Dhoom franchise began in 2004 with Abhishek Bachchan as ACP Jai Dixit, Uday Chopra as Ali, and John Abraham as master thief Kabir Sharma. Esha Deol and Rimi Sen also played important roles. The 2006 sequel, Dhoom 2, expanded the series by introducing Hrithik Roshan as Aryan Singhania and Aishwarya Rai as Sunheri Kaur, alongside Abhishek and Uday. The sequel became a massive success, further boosting the franchise’s popularity and making it one of Bollywood’s biggest action series.

Dhoom 3, the latest installment in the franchise, hit theatres in 2013. The film featured Aamir Khan in a dual role as twin brothers Sahir and Samar Khan, while Katrina Kaif played gymnast Aaliya Hussain. Despite high expectations, it received mixed-to-negative reviews and underperformed critically. Rumours about future installments have circulated for years, but the makers have not made any official announcement so far.
