Ranji Final: Not Chinnaswamy, exciting Ranji in Hubli, players will come out for the last great match
Chennai. This time, Karnataka Cricket Association (KSCA) will host the Ranji Trophy final between Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday and this match will be played in Hubli instead of Chinnaswamy Stadium. KSCA had the option to hold this match in either Bengaluru or Hubli.
However, the decision to shift the match to Hubli has been taken as the construction work for the changes suggested by the Home Ministry’s expert committee is still ongoing. A KSCA spokesperson said, “Work is going on at the entry of spectators and other important areas and the roads are being widened. Apart from this, other important works are also going on.
Amidst these constructions, it was not possible to provide the kind of facilities that the Ranji final should have.” Eight-time champion Karnataka, which defeated Uttarakhand on the basis of first innings lead, will be in the field to win the title for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
In the final, Karnataka will face the team of Jammu and Kashmir, which reached the final for the first time in 67 years. If we talk about statistics, before this both the teams have clashed four times and Karnataka has won every time.
