Ranji Trophy: The trio of Darshan, Nachiket and Aditya wreaked havoc, Vidarbha’s hold against Andhra strengthened!

Vidarbha vs Andhra: In the 4-day match being played between Vidarbha cricket team and Andhra cricket team in Ranji Trophy Elite Group ‘A’, Vidarbha has taken a clear lead till the end of the second day’s play. After taking a lead of 67 runs on the basis of first innings, Vidarbha started the second innings cautiously and took the total lead to 71 runs. At present the trend of the match seems to be in favor of Vidarbha.

The innings ended quickly on the second day.

Vidarbha team, which came in to play at 267/3 on the second day, could not last long. Yash Rathod, who had scored a brilliant century on the first day, added 11 more runs but was out on a personal score of 115. Nachiket Bhute, who was unbeaten on 25, returned to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs. In the lower order, Parth Rekhde (4) also returned to the pavilion soon.

Vidarbha ended its first innings by adding 28 runs in just 8.3 overs but by then the team had put pressure on Andhra. Rathod faced 191 balls and hit 14 fours and gave a strong base to the team. Apart from them, Rohit Binkar (37), Darshan Nalkande (36) and Nachiket Bhute (31) made useful contributions.

Andhra’s batting: faltered from the beginning

In this Ranji Trophy match, Andhra had a very poor start while chasing the target. The fast bowlers kept us under pressure from the beginning. KS Bharat (9), SK Rasid (0) and captain Ricky Bhui (0) were out early. After falling 3 wickets for 49 runs, Andhra’s situation also became like Vidarbha’s first innings. Abhishek Reddy stood firm at one end and played a struggling inning of 73 runs.

Along with him, Karan Shinde (20) tried to handle the innings for some time but as soon as Abhishek was out on the score of 94, the fall of wickets started again. Pacers Darshan Nalkande, Nachiket Bhute and Aditya Thackeray took two wickets each, while spinners Harsh Dubey and Parth Rekhde kept the run rate in check with tight bowling.

47 runs is the biggest partnership for Andhra.

For Andhra, the biggest partnership of 47 runs was made between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Saurabh Kumar on the 7th wicket. Nitish scored 20 runs in 25 balls, while Saurabh batted with restraint and played a useful inning of 62 runs. However, due to lack of support from the other end, the entire Andhra team was all out for 228 runs.
