The formula for determining the ranking is how many countries a person with a passport can visit without a visa. Pakistan's position in this list is bad. Along with Yemen its rank is 103rd. Civil war continues in Yemen. Pakistan's ranking is worse than North Korea.
According to this ranking, the most powerful passport in the world is from Singapore. Singapore ranks first in this list. Singapore passport holders can travel to 195 countries around the world visa-free or with visa on arrival. If we skip 2023, Singapore has been on top of the list since 2021. Last year, France was in first place in 2024, along with Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain.
Japan has always been competing with Singapore in the ranking of powerful passports. This year Japan came in second place. Japanese passport holders can travel to 193 countries visa-free or with a visa on arrival. Japan was ranked first along with Singapore and other countries in 2024. In 2023, they will overtake Singapore and come to the first position. In 2022 and 2021, it will be at the first position along with Singapore.
India's ranking declined this year
This year India's ranking has also fallen by 5 places. India has been ranked 85th in this list. Last year India was at 80th position. India's rank was 84 in 2023, 83 in 2022, 90 in 2021, 82 in 2020 and 82 in 2019. According to this year's ranking, Indian passport holders can travel to 57 countries with or without visa on arrival. These countries include Angola, Bhutan, Bolivia, Fiji, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Qatar, Sri Lanka etc. In this list, Pakistan is at 103rd, Afghanistan at 106th, Bangladesh at 100th, Sri Lanka at 96th, Myanmar at 94th and Bhutan at 90th.
