How did the controversy start?

Ranveer Singh recently attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). On the same stage, he made fun of the divine dance of Chavundi/Chamunda Devi shown in the film Kantara and imitated that character. He called it ‘female ghost’. After the video of the ceremony surfaced on social media, people strongly criticized it, calling it an insult to Gods and Goddesses. In the video, even after coming down from the stage, Ranveer was seen mimicking the same character in front of Rishabh Shetty, while Rishabh was seen trying to stop him. As the controversy has increased, the demand for legal action against the actor has intensified.
