Ranveer Singh bows down on Kantara controversy, will apologize unconditionally for mimicry
Mumbai: Amid the success of the film Dhurandhar 2 directed by Aditya Dhar, actor Ranveer Singh is going to file an affidavit in the Karnataka High Court on 10 April 2026, in which Ranveer Singh will apologize unconditionally for mimicking the scene of the film Kantara 2. In fact, in February, there was an allegation against Ranveer Singh for hurting the sentiments of the Kannada community. Not only this, an FIR was also lodged against the actor, after which the actor approached the High Court seeking relief.
Ranveer Singh had apologized through a post
Let us tell you that at that time the Karnataka High Court had directed the authorities not to take any punitive action against the actor. However, after being trolled on social media, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh apologized and shared a post on Instagram, in which he wrote, ‘My intention was to praise Rishabh Shetty’s brilliant acting. He respects culture and tradition. He further wrote, ‘If anyone’s sentiments have been hurt because of me, I sincerely apologize.’
What did Ranveer Singh’s lawyer say in the court?
Ranveer’s lawyer said in the court that he will convince Ranveer to personally apologize by going to Chamundi Temple in Mysore. On which, the complainant’s lawyer Prashant Methal argued that the apology sought by the actor was a sham. Because Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh had apologized by sharing a post on Instagram. He did not apologize verbally. Methal did not interpret this gesture as genuine remorse or a heartfelt apology.
Rishabh Shetty praised ‘Dhurandhar 2’ fiercely
Interestingly, Kantara director Rishabh Shetty has praised the recently released Ranveer Singh film Dhurandhar The Revenge. He wrote on social media that the story of the film and the work of all the actors along with Ranveer Singh is excellent.
