Rapid rail will run in 4 states of the country, good news for 20 cities

New Delhi. Amidst the rapidly developing high-speed rail network in the country, there are preparations to extend the scope of Namo Bharat (Rapid Rail) project to Uttarakhand. The proposed new corridor from Meerut to Haridwar and Rishikesh is being considered a big step towards connecting Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Uttarakhand with the modern rail network. Upon completion of this project, millions of passengers will get the option of fast, safe and comfortable travel, while tourism, business and religious travel are also expected to get a new impetus.

The new corridor will be about 150 kilometers long

The proposed rapid rail corridor will start from Modipuram station in Meerut and reach Daurala, Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar, Roorkee, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Its total length is proposed to be approximately 150 kilometers. Of this, about 72 km will be in Uttar Pradesh and about 78 km will be in Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand government has also appointed nodal officers for the project to expedite survey and land related works.

Connectivity will increase between four states

The biggest benefit of this project will be that travel between Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand will become easier than before. After connecting with the existing Namo Bharat corridor of Meerut-Delhi, passengers from Haridwar and Rishikesh will be able to directly reach major interchange stations of Delhi. This will provide great relief to daily commuters as well as tourists and businessmen.

Rapid rail will reach Jewar airport

Through the new connectivity, it will also become easier for passengers to reach Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) from Ghaziabad Interchange. With the expansion of the rapid rail network in the future, the need for passengers coming from Uttarakhand to change different modes of air travel may be significantly reduced.

Direct benefits will be available till Haryana also

After the expansion of the rapid rail network, passengers coming from Uttarakhand will also be able to avail the benefit of the proposed rapid rail services in the direction of Sonipat, Panipat in Haryana and further towards Karnal through Sarai Kale Khan Interchange. This will connect many major cities of North India through a modern high-speed transport network.

Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar will become big transport hubs

Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar stations will be the major centers of this project. Sarai Kale Khan is being developed as a multi-modal interchange hub, where rapid rail, railways, metro and other public transport services will connect with each other. At Anand Vihar, the integrated network of rapid rail along with metro, railway and bus terminal will make the movement of passengers more convenient.
