Ranchi: Rashmi Prakash, MLA from Chatra and daughter-in-law of former minister Satyanand Bhokta, has been given a big responsibility in RJD. State RJD President Sanjay Singh Yadav has made Rashmi Prakash the new president of Jharkhand State Mahila RJD. Sanjay Singh Yadav handed over the nomination letter to Rashmi Prakash in the state office.

Satyanand Bhokta's daughter-in-law Rashmi Prakash, who is carrying forward the political legacy of Satyanand Bhokta in Chatra, had contested the 2024 assembly elections on RJD ticket but had to face defeat on that seat at the hands of Chirag Paswan's party candidate Janardan Paswan.
During the 2024 assembly elections, the then woman RJD state president Rani Kumari, who wanted to contest from Ranchi assembly seat, had contested as an independent candidate. Rani Kumari had resigned from the post of women RJD state president after Ranchi seat went to JMM quota in the alliance.
