During the mega-auctions for the IPL 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Ravichandran Ashwin has been bought by Chennai Super Kings.
This auction will mark the return of Ashwin in the franchise. Ashwin played for the franchise from 2009 to 2015. He then shifted to Rising Pune Supergiants since CSK was banned from the IPL for two seasons.
In the bidding war with Rajasthan Royals, Chennai took to understand the potential of Ashwin and made their best to take the player in, which they succeeded in.
Ashwin got bought by Chennai Super Kings for a final price of Rs. 9.75 crore, even though his base price was just Rs. 2 crore.
