According to media reports, Vijaypat Singhania has left behind assets worth about Rs 12 thousand crores. Let us tell you that in 2015, he had handed over 37 percent stake of his company to his son. His son Gautam Singhania is now heading the Raymond Company.
Vijaypat Singhania was born on 4 October 1938. He was the chairman of Raymond Group for a long time and took the business to great heights. He headed the group from 1980 to 2015. Under his leadership, there was a big jump in the growth of the company and while expanding the business, Vijaypati Singhania took steps forward in other sectors including perfumes along with clothing business. He also registered Raymond’s presence abroad in the 90s.
Let us tell you that in 1994, the Indian Air Force gave him the title of Honorary Air Commodore. He has also been awarded the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award for his contribution in the field of aviation. In November 2005, at the age of 67, he achieved a historic feat by flying to a height of approximately 69,000 feet in a hot air balloon.
