RCB created history, defeated SRH by 6 wickets –

Tezzbuzz Desk- IPL 2026 started in a very exciting manner, where in the very first match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) created history by registering a spectacular win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). RCB demonstrated its strength by achieving the target of more than 200 runs very easily.

Batting first, Hyderabad team scored 201 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Ishan Kishan, playing aggressively, played a brilliant inning of 80 runs in 38 balls, which included 8 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from him, Aniket Verma scored 43 runs in 18 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen contributed 31 runs.

Jacob Duffy was the most successful in RCB’s bowling, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, Romario Shepherd also took 3 wickets. Jaydev Unadkat and Harsh Dubey got 1 success each.

RCB, chasing the target of 202 runs, had a weak start, but Devdutt Padikkal, who came as an impact player, changed the course of the match. Batting at number three, he scored 61 runs in just 26 balls, which included 7 fours and 4 sixes.

Along with him, Virat Kohli also batted brilliantly and scored unbeaten 69 runs on 38 balls. During this, he hit 5 fours and 5 sixes. Captain Rajat Patidar also took the team closer to victory by playing a quick inning of 31 runs in 12 balls.

Ultimately RCB scored 203 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 15.4 overs and won by 6 wickets. This win was also special because RCB successfully chased more than 190 runs against SRH for the first time.
