RCB Crush Mumbai Indians’ Chase, Seal 18-Run Victory in Mumbai
A collective performance from RCB has sealed an 18-run victory against the Mumbai indians at Wankhede Stadium.
RCB sealed an 18-run victory to clinch their third win in the ongoing season and retain their spot in the IPL 2026 points table.
After being invited to bat first, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opened the innings while Trent Boult opened the bowling attack. The duo made a solid start, scoring 71 runs in the power play.
Phil Salt was in fiery mode, smashing a 25-ball fifty and continued to trouble Mumbai bowlers. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli smashed a fifty in 37 deliveries as the duo made a 120-run partnership for the first wicket.
Hardik Pandya bagged the wicket of Virat Kohli for 50 runs, while Shardul Thakur picked the wicket of Phil Salt for 78 runs.
Rajat Patidar, who came to bat at No. 3, smashed a 17-ball fifty as the side cross 200-run mark. Santner bagged the third wicket for Mumbai Indians dismissing Patidar for 53 runs.
Trent Boult picked the wicket of Jitesh Sharma on a lbw for 10 runs. With Tim David and Romario Shepherd at crease, RCB scored 240 runs in their 20 over innings.
Trent Boult, Shardul Thakur, Hardik Pandya and Mitchell Santner all picked a wicket each for Mumbai Indians.

Chasing a mammoth 241 run target, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma opened the innings while Jacob Duffy opened the bowling attack.
With Rickelton making a solid start, Rohit Sharma went back to dug out on retired hurt after scoring 19 runs off 13 deliveries.
With Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton at crease, Mumbai Indians scored 62 runs in the powerplay. Suyash Sharma brought the first breakthrough dismissing Ryan Rickelton for 37 runs.
Suyansh bagged his second wicket dismissing Tilak Varma for 1 runs. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya did make a partnership but Krunal Pandya given the necessary breakthrough dismissing Suryakumar Yadav for 33 runs.
Jacob Duffy bagged the wicket of Hardik Pandya who scored 40 runs off 22 deliveries. Rasikh Salam Dar picked the wicket of Naman Dhir, despite having calf cramps. He did bowl five balls before Shepherd delivered the final ball of the 16th over.
With Sherfane Rutherford and Mitchell Santner at crease, Mumbai Indians took the side to 222 runs in 20 over innings, as they suffered third consecutive defeat.
Rutherford slammed 26-ball fifty and remained unbeaten with 71* runs off 31 deliveries. His knock included a four and 9 sixes. RCB will play their next game against Lucknow Super Giants on April 15 at Bengaluru.
