It is noteworthy that Aditya Birla Group, Times of India Group, Bolt Ventures and Blackstone Investment Company have together purchased the RCB franchise for more than Rs 16,000 crore. He has purchased 100 percent stake of the Bengaluru team from United Spirits Limited.

The current owner of RCB, Aryaman Birla was once a successful cricketer, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2018 auction, but this player did not get to play any match, now Aryaman Birla is the owner of RCB as a businessman and has been made the chairman of the franchise.

Aditya Birla Group director, Aryaman Vikram Birla will be the chairman of the RCB franchise, while Times of India Group’s Satyan Gajwani will be the vice chairman of the team. Earlier, the group led by Kal Somani had bought Rajasthan Royals for $ 1.63 billion, which is equivalent to about Rs 15,286 crore.

But the deal for Royal Challengers Bangalore has been done for more than Rs 16,000 crore. Under this deal, the ownership rights of RCB’s men’s and women’s team will also be with this new group.

Who is Aryaman Birla?

Aryaman Birla, son of industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, is not only a successful businessman but also a former cricketer. He played domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh and made his first-class debut against Odisha in November 2017, opening the innings with Rajat Patidar.

The most memorable moment of Aryaman’s career came during the 2018 Ranji season, when he scored an unbeaten century against Bengal. This innings brought him into the limelight and due to this performance, he was selected in the IPL, where Rajasthan Royals (RR) bought him for ₹ 30 lakh in the 2018 auction, although he did not play any match.

Aryaman currently serves on the board of Aditya Birla Management Corporation and plays an active role in group companies such as Grasim Industries and Aditya Birla Fashion.

He holds an MBA with Honors from Harvard Business School, a Master’s degree in Global Finance from Bayes Business School and a Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai.
