RCB vs CSK: Tim David-Rajat Patidar created a ruckus, defeated CSK by 43 runs
In an exciting match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) performed brilliantly and defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 43 runs. With this victory, Bengaluru achieved its second consecutive success in the tournament and made its intentions clear that the team is a strong contender for the title this time too.
RCB’s explosive batting
Batting first, RCB made a blazing start and scored a huge score of 250 runs after losing three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In this innings, Tim David played a stormy inning of 70 unbeaten runs, while Devdutt Padikkal scored 50 runs. Captain Rajat Patidar also put the team in a strong position by batting brilliantly. RCB batsmen adopted an aggressive stance throughout the match and hit a flurry of fours and sixes.
The most explosive phase of the innings was seen in the last four overs, where the team scored 97 runs without losing any wicket. During this period the run pace remained very fast and the bowlers looked completely helpless. This is considered to be one of the most aggressive finishes in IPL history. Overall the team hit 14 fours and 19 sixes, taking the score to 250.
Very bad start for Chennai
Chennai had a very bad start while chasing the target. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad returned to the pavilion in the very first over. After this the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Sarfaraz Khan definitely struggled by playing a quick inning of 50 runs in 25 balls. Apart from them, Prashant Veer scored 43 runs and Jamie Overton scored 37 runs, but other batsmen could not make much contribution.
Bengaluru’s bowling was also impressive. Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the back of Chennai by taking three wickets in four overs. Whereas Krunal Pandya and Jacob Duffy played an important role in the victory by taking two wickets each. RCB’s batting partnerships were also strong in this match. The batsmen maintained pressure on the Chennai bowlers by adding runs rapidly in the middle and end overs. Especially the unbeaten partnership between Patidar and Tim David completely changed the course of the match.
